Summer activities nearby
In summer, the Kiental valley offers numerous opportunities to enjoy nature – for example along the river “Chiene”, on one of the numerous hiking trails or over hill and dale by bicycle. Switzerland’s steepest post bus route can also be found in the Kiental valley. It takes visitors to Griesalp, along thundering waterfalls and through the pristine Pochtenschlucht gorge. In order to be able to drive on the steep, narrow road, the post bus company (PostAuto) uses a smaller bus from the village of Kiental, where the big bus turns. The route to Griesalp runs from June to October.
Further information on the various summer activities in the region (incl. bad weather programme) are available on the homepage of Kiental Tourism.
Winter activities nearby
The Kiental also has a lot to offer in winter. In the close surroundings you will find the 7km long Ramslauenen sledge run, which is accessible by a chair lift. In January and February even sleigh rides by moonlight are possible. The Ramslauenen area also offers a ski lift and some easy to medium pistes (further information and map of pistes). Snowshoe tours (30 km of marked routes) and cross-country skiing are also possible. There is also a natural ice rink just below the village of Kiental.
