Weltmusik ist seit 25 Jahren zu einem unverzichtbaren Bestandteil unserer Kultur in Westeuropa geworden. Unsere multikulturelle Gesellschaft findet in der Weltmusik neuen Ausdruck und ein wichtiges Bindeglied. Die Musik aus demBalkan und dem Orient inspiriert viele Musiker/innen und erobert einen festen Platz in unserem Repertoire.

Kursinhalte

In diesem Sommerseminar erleben wir die verbindende Kraft dieser Melodien und Rhythmen. Die Fähigkeit zu stilgetreuem Spiel wird entwickelt. Wir werden bald feststellen, dass die Stilmittel wie eine Sprache für eigene Kreationen genutzt werden können. Wir spielen nach Noten, nach Gehör und nach Akkordschemen. Im Zentrum steht ein lockeres und freudvolles Learning by Doing. Alle Teilnehmenden - mit viel oder wenig Weltmusikerfahrung - werden auf ihre Kosten kommen! Wir schaffen neue Räume für lebendige Begegnungen und nehmen diese wertvollen Erfahrungen mit.

Zielgruppe

Dieser Workshop richtet sich an Musiker jeglicher Richtung, welche die Fähigkeit zum Spielen von Gypsy-, Balkan- und Klezmermusik erlernen, weiterentwickeln und die Seele dieser Musik erleben wollen.

Voraussetzungen

Empfehlenswert ist eine gute Fähigkeit zum Spielen eines Instrumentes. Du benötigst jedoch keine Vorkenntnisse in Weltmusik.

Kursleitung

Nehrun Aliev, stammt aus einer türkischsprachigen Musikerfamilie Nordmazedoniens. Als Kind lernte er verschiedene Instrumente zu spielen (Darabuka, Klavier, Klarinette, Keyboard, Akkordeon, Tapan und Kaval) und wurde mit den zahlreichen Stilen der lokalen Volksmusik vertraut. Von 2001-03 studierte Nehrun Aliev klassische Musik an der Berufs-Musikschule in Bitola, mit den Hauptfächern Klarinette und Klavier im Nebenfach. 2003-05 schloss er sein Vorstudium am Konservatorium Winterthur ab und spielte Klarinette im Jugendsinfonieorchester Winterthur. Außerdem spielte er in der orientalischen Gypsy Formation Ssassa, mit der er über 1000 Konzerte gab, unter anderem im Volkshaus und Kongresshaus Zürich, im KKL Luzern und der Tonhalle St. Gallen. Im Jahr 2010 schloss Nehrun Aliev sein Studium an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste mit dem Master of Arts in Musikpädagogik/Klarinette ab und absolvierte anschließend ein zweites Masterstudium in Schulmusik. Pädagogisch tätig ist er an einer Oberstufe in Winterthur und leitet Workshops, Seminare und Kurse bei den Musikvereinen Galotti Zürich und VTi (Volkstanz & Tanzmusik international). Darüber hinaus gründete er mit seinem Vater das Aliev Bleh Orkestar und Familien Ensemble Tayfa. Seit 2014 spielt er als festes Mitglied der international bekannten Balkan Band Sebass mit. Weiteren internationale Projekte sind Vadane, Hüma und Sangam.

Monique Lansdorp, ist in den Niederlanden eine gefragte Geigerin mit charismatischer Bühnenpräsenz. Sie studierte Musikwissenschaft und klassische Geige und spielte weltweit an Festivals und Konzerten. Ihr Interesse an der osteuropäischen Musik führte sie weiter zur Weltmusik. Darin unterrichtet sie seit 1984 inspirierend in Kursen und Seminaren, die sie in der Schweiz über die Zeit mit andern Musikern aufbaute. International unterrichtet sie in der Klezmer- und Balkanszene. Ein Konzert, ein Workshop oder ein Meisterkurs mit Monique ist immer ein unvergessliches Erlebnis.

Michael Horowitz, hörte als Kind in New York die jiddischen Gesänge seiner Grosseltern und Tanzmusik aus Osteuropa an den Familienfesten. Sein Gitarrenspiel widerspiegelt diese frühen Einflüsse, sowie die Folk, Rock, Funk und Blues seiner amerikanischen Heimat. Nach über 40 Jahren Erfahrung als Performer und Musiklehrer im Bereich Blues, Rock, Folk, Klassik und Weltmusik ist er immer aufs Neue bereit, von sich selber und seinen Mitmusikern überrascht zu werden.

Balkan music: the time has come…

The potential for the further development of current balkan music is being realised on stages, at parties and in clubs all over the globe. Musicians of any age and origin are infected by this sound.

Course content

The special thing about this course is the close supervision in a personal frame. We will give participants ideas and proposals from the rich repertoire of balkan music to take home with them so that their arrangements will really start grooving.
We will play by scores, by ear and by cord patterns. At the core of our activity will be a joyful `learning by doing`. Everyone - whether with much or little music experience - will profit!

Target group

This workshop is for musicians of any genre who want to learn, further develop and experience the soul of gypsy, balkan and klezmer music.

Requirements

It is advisable to have a good capacity to play an instrument. But you do not need to have any previous knowledge of world music.

Course instructor

Nehrun Aliev, comes from a Turkish-speaking musical family of Northern Macedonia. As a child he learned to play various instruments (darabuka, piano, clarinet, keyboard, accordion, tapan and kaval) and became familiar with the numerous styles of local folk music. From 2001-03 Nehrun Aliev studied classical music at the Professional Music School in Bitola, majoring in clarinet and minoring in piano. In 2003-05 he completed his preliminary studies at the Winterthur Conservatory and played clarinet in the Winterthur Youth Symphony Orchestra. He also played in the oriental gypsy formation Ssassa, with whom he gave over 1000 concerts, including at the Volkshaus and Kongresshaus Zurich, the KKL Lucerne and the Tonhalle St. Gallen. In 2010, Nehrun Aliev graduated from the Zurich University of the Arts with a Master of Arts in Music Education/Clarinet and subsequently completed a second Master's degree in School Music. He teaches at a high school in Winterthur and leads workshops, seminars and courses at the music associations Galotti Zurich and VTi (folk dance & dance music international). Monique Lansdorp, is a violinist that is in high demand and has a charismatic stage presence. She studied music science and classic violin and has played concerts all over the world.
